Does the ICAEW float your boat?
It is almost certainly the most exciting accountancy-related development to hit the Lord Mayor's show in years....
Well at least since 2005. What do you mean you don't remember how the Chartered Institute of Taxation and the Worshipful Company of Tax Advisors' ambitions to render live the CIoT's logo with two eagle owls were thwarted due to concerns over avian flu? (They had to borrow an owl suit instead.)
This year the ICAEW is throwing its weight behind the worthy cause of numeracy with a float that will, TS is told, feature children dancing around giant numbers.
As if that weren't exciting enough TS is given to understand that the float will be a 'green' one with two stalwarts of the press office peddling furiously to provide the power.
TS won't hear of any jokes involving backpedalling, (news) recycling or spinning.
Suddenly November seems a very long way away.

I'd be worried about the methane emissions...
